About the Founder
Samantha brings over 15 years of experience within the Young People, beginning her career as a Residential Care Officer. Following the completion of her Bachelor’s Degree in Education in Professional Practice from UWE, she transitioned into the educational team at a leading secure unit for children in Bristol. During her tenure, she progressed from a Specialist English Interventions Support role to leading subjects including Health & Social Care, Life Skills, and both NOCN and GCSE English.
Throughout her career, Samantha recognised a critical gap in specialist interventions particularly for families and young people navigating the challenges of Additional Needs (SEND), disabilities, and mental health concerns. She observed that too many young people with complex needs often slipped through the cracks, especially during key transitional periods such as the move into secondary education or adulthood.
With Samantha’s experience supporting children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and physical disabilities, Samantha has developed a deep understanding of how to build inclusive and nurturing learning environments. Her approach is deeply collaborative, working closely with families and professionals to ensure each learner receives personalised support that enables them to thrive.
Driven by a commitment to holistic, person-centred support, Samantha completed training with Trauma Informed Schools UK (TISUK), qualifying as a Level 5 Trauma & Mental Health Schools Practitioner. In this role, she combines her educational background with therapeutic practice, helping young people understand and manage the impact of trauma on their lives. Her work focuses on developing resilience, emotional regulation, and positive engagement, particularly for those with complex behavioural or emotional needs.
Samantha’s extensive experience within the secure estate supporting young offenders with disaffected and disengaged behaviours reinforced her belief in proactive rather than reactive intervention. She consistently worked to re-engage young people with education, aiming to interrupt the cycles that often lead to exclusion, community disengagement, and ultimately youth custody. Her ability to foster trust, shift mindsets, and facilitate change has proven to be a powerful and transferable skill beyond the confines of secure units.
It was this passion for early, impactful intervention and her unwavering belief in every young person’s potential that led to the creation of FYP Interventions. Through FYP Interventions, Samantha channels her experience, energy, and empathy into creating positive pathways for young people championing their growth, advocating for their needs, and empowering them to become the best versions of themselves.
